2 months since previous timeline photo. I have not touched it up at all and am loving the various levels of color fade!

Experiment time! I bleached out all the parts of my hair that are starting to come in grey and put the Indigo hair potion I usually mix up (it was previously already on my ends) on my whole head. I did that to also cool tone my brown. This color usually fades to a smokey blue tone where I bleach so I am anxious to see what it will look like in time as the grey comes in more too. I am hoping for some Lily Munster vibes seeing the pattern stripe its created! Might end up being my first step to eventually becoming a silver fox! ??

So I decided to give my hair its winter hibernation break from all the processing by going closer to my natural hair color. I used the L'Oreal Paris Superior Preference 3C Cool Darkest Brown over the top of my bang area to cover up what I had in my previous photo. I lifted only the ends of my hair a tad bit including the layer that frames my face and did my favorite Indigo Mixture (Arctic Fox Poseidon mixed with Purple AF formerly Purple Rain) for a slight ombre effect. This photo was taken approximately a month later after many washes as it was much darker when I first did it. Hard to tell but I have some faded to silver spots which I am actually really loving right now as I am debating on letting my natural grey/silver grow in.

The mixture of Arctic Fox Periwinkle with a dash of Pravana Violet around my face was fading super fast and also looking very uneven so I discovered I had Ion Radiant Orchid leftover in my hair color stash and put it on top and this was the end result. Which I think meshes much better with the L'Oreal Paris Superior Preference 3C Cool Darkest Brown everywhere else. It also made the color a lot more even but still vivid.

With the weather in The Midwest getting into hibernation season soon I usually go back to a color brown/black close to my natural color to give it a break. This time I dyed over all the faux color except around my face with L'Oreal Paris Superior Preference 3C Cool Darkest Brown which covered the purple and blue with its cool tones magically with no muddiness! I then lightened the pieces around my face that were a faded blue and applied a mixture of Arctic Fox Periwinkle with a dash of Pravana Violet.

Wanted to mix things up a bit from just purple so I lightened my outgrowth and some pieces around my face with Ion Cream Brightner. I then used a mix of Arctic Fox Poseidon with a touch of Purple Rain to create an Indigo Purple for my roots and base. For the pieces around my face I first applied just the Poseidon but it didn't take as blue as I wanted.. looked more like a faded blue. So I threw the Indigo mix I created on top of it which turned out to the shade of blue I wanted.

Decided to brighten things up for Spring and Summer. Used Ion Bright White Creme Lightener to lighten my previously Dark Purple hair before applying the Pravana Vivids Violet. This is what it looks like in the sunlight from the front seat of our hearse.

Hair was fading so decided to put my old friend Pravana Vivids Violet on top of what was already there.

This is what my hair color from the previous photo faded to after 3 weeks. I decided not to touch it up (normally I touch it up with Arctic Fox half way before I need a full root touch up) but this time decided to just enjoy the beautiful color transition as it faded!

Freshly dyed hair! This is what my hair looks like now after I freshly dye it. This time I used what I had in my cabinet to achieve a similar color as last time so I could touch up my roots. I used 4VV African Amethyst by ISO with a little bit of blue intensifier only on my roots, processed and rinsed. I then mixed Arctic Fox Purple Rain with a bit of Poseidon and put that on top of my whole head roots to ends. This was the end result!

This photo reflects my hair color in natural lighting (in a car outdoors) after 2 weeks of fading from my previous photo/dye job. I really loved the transition it went through. It fades to a brighter plum shade which I keep for a short period of time before I start all over with my roots etc.

So as you can see from my photo before this one my roots were grown out to about mid bang with my natural hair color which I guess is about a level 4. My ends were faded Revlon's Colorsilk Buttercream in Brown Black #30 which were atleast a level 3 or darker. My goal was to achieve a eggplant darkest brown shade with a purple hue. To achieve this I used Ion Cream Lightner to lighten up my ends that had all that dye on them. I wanted my ends to be somewhat close to my root color but a tad lighter because I wanted darker roots faded to lighter ends. After I rinsed all that out I mixed Age Beautiful 4V with 3B and applied to my whole head. It came out pretty dark so I let it sit a few days and washed it a couple of times and then covered it all in Arctic Fox Purple Rain. This was the end result! I LOVE it. However its a lot of mixing of colors and things to upkeep but faded beautifully.
