Pravana Silver

★★★★★

Pravana Vivids Silver is the go-shade for silver/light grey hair and it’s one of our best sellers!

Apply to pale blonde hair directly for a rich deep grey, or dilute with conditioner for a more shimmery silver. Pravana Silver is one of the more long-lasting silver toners around and gradually lightens with each wash.

ChromaSilk Vivids Silver is for hair that’s been pre-lightened to pale blonde. If you apply it to darker hair the result won’t resemble our swatch.

We recommend doing a timed strand test with Pravana Silver as leaving it on too long, particularly on porous hair, can cause it to turn bluish. (Don’t worry, the blue washes out to silver).

Pravana Silver is an amazing mid-grey colour which you can dilute with conditioner to make a paler silver colour.

Usage

Apply directly to pre-lightened hair using a tint brush and avoiding getting colour on your scalp. Do not mix with peroxide. Allow to process for at least 20-40 minutes before rinsing or for increased vibrancy apply to hair, cover with a plastic cap and allow to process under a hooded dryer for 20 minutes.

Further instructions can be found inside Pravana’s outer packaging.

Reviews of Pravana Silver

  • Love this. Have applied very diluted for a white/silver look on extremely pale bleached hair with very little yellow - inside of banana color. Great cause you can control how strong you want - just a little silvery white or full on silvery grey! Mine came out of tube with just a slight purply tinge. Report Comment
  • I honestly loved how this colour came out. I'm pretty sure the package said to leave it on for around a half an hour (this may be wrong- it's been a while since i've read the instructions on it) but I forgot about it and left it on for around two colours. This came out blue, but it was honestly the nicest metallic blue I've ever seen. Over time, it faded to a silver with a purple tone and then to a true silver. Report Comment
  • I used this color on inside of banana color bleached hair like Tbonita But mine came out a very strong gunmetal with a little blue it. I have had the color in my hair for a good 3 weeks and there no real fading yet it just turned a little lighter still gunmetal just a little lighter I wash my hair every 2-3 days in the morning And I have to give it to Pravana very lasting hair color. I would Recommend to someone trying to get gunmetal hair if you want true silver this is not the dye for you Report Comment
  • This stuff is very potent and can make your hair appear quite dark. Make sure you dilute it to avoid blue/steel grey hair. Report Comment
  • I tried it full strength on bleached light blonde hairand it worked v well. I had to do two rounds because the more yellowy tones werent quite covered up but in the end it turned out a nice even light grey colour, with the slightest hint of blue. One thing to note is I have a pixie cut with very short hair at the back/more at the front and i used the whole tube so if you're dying longer hair you're going to want a few tubes? My icon is the colour it went Report Comment
  • I mix it with conditioner and use it as a top up when I wash my hair. Seems to keep the colour fresh. Be careful to wash it out properly though all you can get purple patches. Report Comment

  • Help! I'm trying to go all silver... I bleached my hair and I've tried different silver dyes and nothing it sticking... I'm looking for a good dye that will stick and last a little bit... So would you recommend this dye? Report Comment
  • I abaolutely love this color. I leave it in for an hour/hour an a half (mainly because I just forget about it) and it always comes out as a beautiful dark grey/gun metal color which I love. It fades to a gorgeous true silver in about 3/4 weeks for me. I wash 2 times a week and also use silver shampoo to combat the yellow should it fade already) I've been using Pravana Silver for about 7 months now and I've only had to redye 3 times. Last week was my 3rd. Report Comment
  • I used this colour and my hair also went purple (more purple than grey) especially at the roots, my roots were white to start so they were light enough to colour too. the ends went a grey/green/blonde colour. Was not impressed. Report Comment
  • Just used this last night on my very pale blonde. I did half of the tube with the same amount of conditioner and a tad a Manic Panic Ultra Violet. Left it on for twenty minutes and it's gorgeous. A little more blue than I was expecting, but after washing my hair once the blue tones aren't nearly as strong. Really recommend! Report Comment
