Reviews of Manic Panic Vampire Red

  • Very good red, though the SFX blood red is better.
  • Vibrant blue-toned deep red. Very bright on bleached hair, achieves gorgeous eye-catching color on the first dye job. But it fades much more quickly compared to the SFX Blood Red-yes, I agree with the first reviewer.
  • I've never used anything other then punky colours and manic panic (cant seem to get it where i live) but I really loved this colour, and used it for atleast 6 months. It lasted quite a long time.
  • I just finished my jar of Vampire Red recently. It's a plain red that looks kind of pink on half-bleached hair like mine (so I wouldn't recommend it for guys). I'll miss it.
  • started has a beautiful deep pink toned red, but after two days it faded to a weird orange:(
  • This is really nice at first. It has a lot of depth and is a true red colour. After a few weeks it fades to a reddish-orange and stays that colour for quite a while.
  • I recently helped a friend of my little sister to dye her hair and this is a great color! Very deep and not too pink. Two thumbs up!
  • I loved it for the first week. After that it didnt turn orange at all though. it was more of a dustly pink in areas.
  • I loved this color. It was a bright red and took easily. I even didn't mind the way it faded. It was a cotton candy orangish pink color. After that it fades to an orangy color that isn't as cool and stays at a dusky orange
  • A good blue based red. I hate when red fades to orange
  • Has only faded to pink over my hair unless my base color was ginger. Anyway, this is probably one of my favorite MP colors and looks great over all sorts of bases. Over unbleached medium brown hair it was a very deep red, over ginger hair an orangey red and over ultra light hair very bright that faded to a beautiful pink. It had good lasting power from my experience (even over unbleached hair)
  • I've used this product for 9 months now, and its an amazing shade of red. Starts off like a medium/dark red, that slowly fades brighter and brighter, to like a crayola red, then maybe a red/pinkish. It usually lasts me about a month with washing my hair twice a week before i have to touch it up. (with dry shampooing in between) after that is when it gets to that light pinkish/peachy colour. Does bleed everywhere. Even with dried hair, i still turned my boyfriends pillows pink xD
  • Gorgeous cool-toned red, fades to a pleasant pinkish shade rather than muddy orange. The staying power is not quite as great as darker reds, but it looks great and lasts well for what its worth.
  • Pink undertoned red- when just dyed it could light up a room (on bleached hair that is). I also diluted it once to make an 'ombre effect'. It turned into a lovely purple/pinkish colour (more to the pink side). Downside: washes out fairly quickly... Would recommend this to touch up permanent red hair though (I did this to blow in some colour every 4 weeks)
  • Is it weird that I am so happy because half of these are of my hair? 'Cause I really am! For years, Vamp Red was a part of my identity, even if I did stray here or there occasionally. For the past year, I have had to have mousy brown hair because of my job as a teacher. I miss having my "natural" red hair more than I could have ever imagined I would! We are forbidden from having unnaturally colored hair, and I am starting to wonder where the line is between natural and unnatural. I can't take it anymore! There must be a compromise! I'm pretty sure I need to try my fave shade over my natural now!
  • This is such a great dark red color, though I found it to be very difficult to get out all the way with fading treatments only, but it can be done :)
  • This will show up on unbleached hair as long as it isn’t too dark. On bleached hair that was taken to a yellow it came out a deep red but it faded to a pinkish tone. I sometimes mixed it with Vampires Kiss for a medium red.
