Reviews of Manic Panic Shocking Blue

  • Great blue, but not one of the bests. Fades to white. Report Comment
  • I had Shocking Blue and Atomic Turquoise (also Manic Panic) in my hair at the same time. The Atomic Turquoise faded A LOT, but the Shocking Blue stayed the same. Report Comment
  • This works well mixed with Atomic Turquoise or by itself. My husband had it for our wedding and it's a very true blue that has pretty good lasting power. Like any blue, it will turn more green if your base color is too yellow. Report Comment
  • Good ol standbye blue as far as I'm concerned. Typical neon blue, lasts well, but fades to that ugly greenish colour if not maintained. Report Comment
  • This was the first blue I tried but I didn't like it because it fades very fast (after 1-2 washes) to purple and then to a pale pink. Unless it's not greenish like almost all other blue dyes. Report Comment
  • I used it both on my cousin's hair (we are both a very pale blonde because of the bleaching) on his hair it lasted a week and half and now it's a pretty silver/light blue; on my hair it is lasting much more time but I've mixed it with Ultra Violet Report Comment
  • Didn't like it. I tried it as an alternate to After Midnight and was somewhat dissapointed. Very weak coverage: I had very faded pink, green and purple before applying the shocking blue and they all mixed with the blue so it was a patchy purplish-teal mess. I thought dark colours are supposed to cover everything! At least After Midnight does. Oh, and tThe paste was sooo thick. It looked wierd Report Comment
  • I diluted this shocking blue with lots of conditioner and it didn't seem to dampen its "shocking" color. I bleached all my hair and it was almost white with hints of mint on the ends. The mint portions are straight up purple, and all my roots are a true blue. It just looks weird. I'm not thrilled but I'll deal with it. Next time, I'll just keep the blonde for a while and see if they really do have more fun ;) Report Comment
  • Not sure where to begin with this dye. I used the amplified version of this dye so the normal version may be different and got pretty wierd results, it was the first unnatural colour hair dye I've ever used. I pre lightened my hair to a pale blonde and it the colour came out an ok dark blue that would literally only last 2 or 3 days and would quickly fade to a violet colour. If you left the hair to continue to fade it would go purple then eventually a neon pink! That would last for a pretty long time. when the dye is in the blue/purple stage it would bleed very badly getting on everything even from just touching your hair when dry! When the dye first goes on the blue isn't very neon and pretty dull looking compared to other blue dyes and doesn't really hold up to the title shocking blue but more like shocking pink haha. If you want a bright neon blue I'd recommend Directioms Atlantic blue I got amazing results with this. Report Comment
