Reviews of Manic Panic Electric Lizard

  • This dye is okay, but does not compare to SFX Iguana Green
  • Make sure your hair is REALLY light. Or else it will look like sewage. (bad experience. >_>;;)
  • I was disappointed with this one, I guess my hair was not light enough but it barely went green :(
  • I hated this color. I'd gotten my hair very light (from black, so I'd already done a bit of work knowing I wanted green). It was terrible. I paired it with purple, pink, and turquoise. They all turned out nicely. The green was awful though, and faded very quickly. After maybe two washes people were asking if i'd bleached my hair again.
  • I think this may need to be mixed with a bit of turquoise to stick properly. I got quite a nice luminescent green with it that has stuck around reasonably well. Also, it seems as if it's not all that pigmented, so really needs to be left on for quite a while. I was in a hurry, so I rinsed it out after an hour and I was left with a bright yellow instead.
  • I've used Neon Electric Lizard and it just doesn't take to my hair! It looks so nice in the photos. It comes out really faint and washes out to a cough sweet yellow after the first wash. I imagine mixing it with another M.P green might work and I've mixed it with Directions Spring Green but think I'm bored of it for now, may come back to it later.
  • Electric Lizard requires basically WHITE hair to achieve the actual color. It doesn't last too long, and requires turquoise for the green upkeep. It definitely glows under a blacklight, and is definitely super neon! I didn't have this color for long, since it faded to yellow.
  • It's a fun bright green at first, but in most cases it quickly turns to a greenish-yellow, and after a few washes it may as well just be bright yellow. Looks pretty in your hair, but if you are anticipating a pure neon green, this one probably won't work like you want. Unless your hair is literally white.
  • I've used it again and it's stuck to my hair this time, perhaps my hair was too porous before. I like it so much I may actually use it more in the future. I'd say it's not a very forgiving colour and if your base isn't perfect, it will show. I think the lighter your hair is, the lighter it will be and the more orangey your hair is it'll be a 'real' green...I think
  • I have used this on a silvery white base and got a lovely neon green color. I think if your base is anything other than white the pigmentation of the dye isn't enough to show up properly.
  • What is the best alternative for this color in a different brand that works better?
  • I've used this color twice and it worked amazing for me both times. The first time I used it I applied it over faded turquoise and it came out wonderful and stayed a long time. The second time was with really light bleached hair and it also did wonderful and stayed a while. It was even slightly hard to get out of my hair when I was done. I don't know why it didn't work so well for others.
