Reviews of Manic Panic After Midnight Blue

  • I love this color. This is a dark, beautiful blue, that fades into many different shades of turquoise and light blue. The color has a lot of depth and fades nicely. Also, it's a fun idea to mix the color with a bit of purple to deepen the color and get out the greenish quality when it fades. The color comes in either a gel formula, which is evidently stronger, or the cream, which has a conditioner base. Manic Panic works best if you have really dry, porous hair. So, if you dye your hair all the time, it'll work great! Report Comment
  • This color is beautiful...but doesn't last long at all. Never used it on myself but on other people. It fades a greenish color which may or may not be pretty. Report Comment
  • I've dyed my hair many, many colors -- this was my first and still by far my favorite. It dyes on dark but vibrant with a smooth, opaque quality I haven't seen in any other dark color. It fades to turquoise and then a very pretty turquoise/sea-green shade. I tend to prefer it over purple-based blues, which start out blackish and fade to purple or silver. Report Comment
  • fades too quick!! Report Comment
  • Definitely has good staying power--I tried bleaching it out three times and it didn't budge. XD But it's a very rich, rich navy blue with purple tones. Report Comment
  • Yes, Canvas it right, please do not listen when the others say it fades quickly, that is not the case at all! After midnight blue, has the staying power of Atomic Pink! If you use the proper hair products you shouldnt have to touch up till your roots are forever long! I strongly recommend this if you are going for the "Royals" blue. Report Comment
  • I had a bad experience with this color. It turns out nicely but it faded quickly. I think how it turns out depends on your hair and how porous it it. Report Comment
  • I love it! i added a bit of a purple to the dye and its kept the blue from turning green. Also most manic panic colors bleed alot in the shower, i saw hardly any dye come out each time, which surprised me. I would use it again for sure. Report Comment
  • this color did not fade quickly for me at all, i was able to keep it in, without touch-ups, for 4 months. i definitely recommend it if you want a nice true blue color. Report Comment
  • This color was long lasting and was hard to get rid of actually. Silly_Sav's idea with adding purple would be a good idea but luckily for me, my next color was Teal anyway so I didn't have to worry about the reminence. Report Comment
  • mixed with purple haze and conditioner, on my timeline. this colour faded to a steel blue after about three washes, which wasn't what i wanted but i have grown to like. no problems at all with staining, and has faded quite evenly. Report Comment
  • I love this colour and have my hair like this but i want it brighter Report Comment
  • Nice dark colour, but has rather blue-green undertones which can look less than favourable as it fades. The colour does stick around a while, but the desired super dark blue phase at the beginning doesn't last too long. Report Comment
  • Very pretty color. Quite dark though, unsurprisingly. Can look black in indoor light. Report Comment
  • This color is amazing, rich and dark but still blue. I died my hair before vacation by the sea, I wore my hair in bun most of the time there. Hair that was "hidden" in the bun stayed blue for really long time even though I was washing my hair every day because of salt. But hair that were flying around, hair that were shown to sun and water all the time faded into weird greyish green and eventually ended up pale almost white. So I accidantely ended up with white/blue ombre, not that I complain ^^ Report Comment
  • My hair began to be dark brown after i started to cut it, but my base is strawberry blonde. I never died my hair before and decided to go for this color. As my hair is delicate, no bleaching. Result: it turned a wonderful dark green and almost black on some parts. I wanted a blue shade, but i love the green i obtained :). It's starting to fade, leaving the hair almost black. I like it, and was careful, i died only the underhair :) Report Comment
