Usage

Directions works best on hair that has been pre-lightened to pale blonde. Some paler shades as well as toners will only work on very light hair. Apply directly to dry or slightly damp, freshly washed (but not conditioned hair) using a tint brush for best results, or use gloved fingers to spread the dye evenly through your hair. Allow to process for at least 15 minutes and do not allow to dry out. Rinse thoroughly. To avoid temporary staining to the skin, apply a layer of Vaseline around your hairline and ears before applying the colour.

Reviews of Directions Lavender

  • I tried to use this, my hair was bleached white, and yet NOTHING came out. Not a single bit of colour! I have no idea how that even happened, but the cream/gel itself seemed to have no pigmentation.. when I rubbed it in it just all turned white. Very disappointing. Report Comment
  • i love purple. i used la riche's plum (check out my review to see how it went!) so i figured this would be a cool color as well. alas, this was just not the case. dying went as usual but rinsing was way too light. it worried me, and my instinct was right. only parts of my hair (mostly the roots. and yes it was bleached) took the color and it just looked slightly pink and spotty. i was very disappointed and dyed over it with red the next day. there wasn't much of a staining problem, which would be a good thing if it wasn't just another sign pointing to this color's epic proportions of fail =( sadly, i do not recommend this color. however, despite my bad experience with this color i still stand by la riche's products. so my personal recommendation is simply to get a darker shade of purple by them and dilute it, that way you have extra dye and still get the quality you want. • I recommend mixing lavender with directions lilac. I don't understand why but for me the colors seemed to stick longer to the hair when they are mixed together. Report Comment
  • I use this on very pale hair, the first color was wonderful, but after only one washing, it gone! o___o not recommend... crazy colour lavender lasted more... Report Comment
  • Used this one over diluted and faded directions carnation pink. It came out a pretty bright purple pinkish colour. But as others have said it does fade rather fast. After a wash or two it turned a light heather like colour (with the underlaying pink showing through quite a bit) and I'm pretty sure the lavender will be gone in another couple of washes. Still a pretty colour though! :) Report Comment
  • i just used this and i left it on for the time called and nothing came out, it fucked up my rug too. pretty much a waste of money. Report Comment
  • I've been using directions for years and had yet to be disappointed..then I used this product. I've been leaving it to wash out before my next bleach job and it doesn't fade to a nice platinum colour, it fades to a pale green tinted colour. As for coverage, it was not great. Even as more of a toner, it barely changed my hair. I'll be trying directions lilac tomorrow, hopefully it works better. Otherwise; PRAVANA VIOLET <3 Report Comment
  • Must be used on very pale base. Washes out quickly, and it has a green base that sticks and is hard to get out. Do not bleach this colour away, you will get green tinted hair. The rest that wasnt green turned out silver, it was pretty tho (not the green). Report Comment
