Directions works best on hair that has been pre-lightened to pale blonde. Some paler shades as well as toners will only work on very light hair. Apply directly to dry or slightly damp, freshly washed (but not conditioned hair) using a tint brush for best results, or use gloved fingers to spread the dye evenly through your hair. Allow to process for at least 15 minutes and do not allow to dry out. Rinse thoroughly. To avoid temporary staining to the skin, apply a layer of Vaseline around your hairline and ears before applying the colour.

Reviews of Directions Cerise

  • Used this dye on top of quite faded Directions red and it gave a lovely magenta sheen that lasted a good 6 weeks. Good dye that didnt stain too badly either!
  • I used this over faded flamingo pink, and found it was a much stronger, more long- lasting choice. It was still bright, just a little darker than flamingo.
  • This is great, I can't believe how long it has lasted, I've had it for over a month and I wash my hair like 3 times a week. And it's hardly even faded. And it's a great colour! I would say, forget flamingo pink, just use this and after washing it twice youll have flamingo pink for like 4 weeks.
  • This dye lasted ages! I loved the purpley pink it came out on my overly orange hair. The colours it fades to are quite nice too ranging from hot pink to a baby pinky red colour.
  • I just finished dyeing my hair with this (on bleached hair) - it is awesome! My hair is bright highlighter pink - it has just exceeded my wildest fluorescent dreams. I can't stop looking at my hair! I tried to take a photo to post, but I can't get a photo to do it justice. Amazing!
  • On my hair this turned out a true, rich hot pink that wasn't fluorescent. Think 'Barbie'. It mixed beautifully with the blue in my hair and makes an awesome purple dye. It's lasted four weeks without showing any signs of fading and hardly bled at all. Not really any magenta tones like other people have mentioned for me. I'd definitely buy it again.
  • It was a truly beautiful color that brings lots of compliments. Which is awesome when you are looking for a slight confidence boost (it did for me). This is not a flat shade, quite the opposite, it gives you a variety of pink shaded streaks and a few dark pink shades that look slightly purple.
  • I felt in love with Cerise! At first I was like "OMG! really dark pink!!! what have I done??", after some washes it's the prettiest pink I ever tried. I wash my head 2-3 times a week and it's still a bright pink after 3-4 weeks. Now I'll try some coontails with Dark tulip or Plume. Still don't know c: but Cerise is my favorite pink forever and ever.
  • Good color! Really bright, and I love the result when applied on fire red hair!
  • Over orange hair, this went a gorgeous dark vibrant pink that I love! The only problem I found was that it stained the bath, but that came off with cleaner and scrubbing :)
  • Love this color a lot ! I used it with Plum (by Directions). Awesome !
  • I'm gonna agree with everyone, it's a great shade ! It will look good no matter what colour your hair is before you dye it. And it does last a long time. The only problem I had with it was that it stained my clothes sometimes around the neck, but nothing too bad, it always went away when I washed my clothes.
  • This is such a great dye, mixes so well with other colours. Have repurchases this two times now. Definitely a keeper.
  • I used it diluted and it gave a really nice, vivid pink, that lasted longer than the directions "carnation pink". It didn't fade to such nice color though - it was a more grayish version of peach pink (I guess because of its the cold tone). I liked it anyhow, especially that after diluting I had lots of it to use xD.
  • Great color, on my hair its a bit red, not so much pink. But I use it also with Plum and I love the different nuances!=)
  • Such a gorgeous cool toned pink! I love how bright this dye is if you dilute it enough and how deep of a pink it can be when used neat. Wonderful for mixing too :D
  • Even with just 2 tablespoon of Cerise mixed with about 200ml of conditioner, it came out really bright! The bottom half of my hair was a faded green, so it came out a purplish hue which gave me a lovely faint ombre.
  • same as Spandorexxa said, i put it on the top over of my faded Poppy Red and the magenta result is awesome! let's see how longlasting it is because i'm in love now :)
  • I was a bit afraid to use this on my bleached hair (bright yellow with orange undertones) because I thought it would come out a bright pink Barbie-like color, that's why I mixed it with Rose Red. I WAS WRONG! It's a gorgeous super bright, vivid magenta/fucshia color with cool undertones and a great pigmentation, it also lasts for a very long time despite the fact it stains quite a lot. I'm in love with this color, Cerise and Rose Red are by far my favorite pink shades from Directions!
  • Great product! A vibrant magenta on its own and produces a lovely bright strong pink colour even when diluted almost 50/50 with conditioner. If you are going for bright pink (as in the swatch & example photo) do mix this with conditioner, it's a very pigmented dye. A litte bit of this stuff goes a long way - excellent for the frugal home colorist who wants to keep vivid and bright pink hair but doesn't want to buy tons of dye or touch the colour up too often. As others have said, it's nice that this pink doesn't fade to orange. It has good staying power too, lasted well over a month on my hair and faded nicely (as in stayed pink, just faded into a lighter shade). Works well as a mixer also! I've used this with Atlantic Blue to create purple tones and that turned out really nice, better than the ready mixed purples I've tried.
  • Best pink ever <3 It last till 4 weeks and over(I wash my hair 2-3 times per week with hot water).First week and half its a very intense purple pink, after second week it change to a beautiful pink similar to Flamingo pink, and after 3 weeks it fades to a color between carnation pink and pastel pink.I tried many pink and this is the best <3
  • When used on unbleached hair (light brown) it looks almost the same shade as Directions Rose Red tbh. I used a mix of the two because I didn’t have enough dye to cover in one colour and you can’t tell that literally the front chunk on one side of the head is with a different dye.
