Directions works best on hair that has been pre-lightened to pale blonde. Some paler shades as well as toners will only work on very light hair. Apply directly to dry or slightly damp, freshly washed (but not conditioned hair) using a tint brush for best results, or use gloved fingers to spread the dye evenly through your hair. Allow to process for at least 15 minutes and do not allow to dry out. Rinse thoroughly. To avoid temporary staining to the skin, apply a layer of Vaseline around your hairline and ears before applying the colour.

If colour comes in contact with textiles or porous surfaces it may cause permanent staining. Always wear latex or vinyl gloves when applying colour to avoid temporary staining of hands and nails. Colour may permanently stain bleached or previously coloured hair.

Colour may stain sinks, bathtubs and showers but this can be easily removed with normal household bleach.

Reviews of Directions Apple Green

  • I loved this green, it came out nice and bright. I applied it over faded fishbowl and it covered quite well and smelled delightful. Very thick dye, a little went a long way.
  • I haven't got any pictures but I used this years ago, and it even showed up on unbleached hair (my hair's naturally very dark brown). Similar consistency to Directions Plum and lasts well.
  • when freshly dyed i got this amazing jewel emerald colour to my hair. my friend who was helping me was nervous about colour bleeding but we had no problems with it, it even smelled a little like apple!
  • one of my favorite green shades although i had to bleach my hair reaaaaaaally pale to get a result near the examples. but was a great help for toning out pink color, too. like.
  • The color was nice. I just have two issues: 1) I have never seen a dark green-blue apple 2) It washed out in two weeks. Turquoise lasted ten times longer.
  • Very beautiful bright green for the first week but then starts to fade quickly. I mixed some with special effects blue velvet and it made a really gorgeous deep turquoise which has lasted longer than the green on it's own.
  • Such a wonderful green that dances the line between fluorescent lime green and a bright emerald (resistant to bleaching!). Would definitely use again.
  • i love this green! its really bright and pretty. it fades kind of fast but it stays a pretty shade of a lighter kind of icy green
  • A pretty emeraldish green. Not my favourite, as it fades to yellowish after only a few washes. But if you can be bothered topping it up all the time, it's a nice green.
  • Sorry for the double post, I forgot to add: It lasts much longer if you mix it with Alpine Green or Turquoise (both also by Directions).
  • great colour to try i used the directions apple green mixed with a little pravana black to get a more dark shade of green for my hair, very happy with the outcome.
  • Well im not satisfied from the color although the reviews is good me i dont found as pigmented i needed it. When you mix it with conditioner no matter what is as pastel and me is not pastel i need :/ So I not recommend for someone need a deep green hair.
  • I like this green more than the Spring green as it’s less yellow. I sometimes mixed it with darker green shades or diluted depending on my mood. It needed touching up about every other wash when diluted and fades quite quickly.
