Directions works best on hair that has been pre-lightened to pale blonde. Some paler shades as well as toners will only work on very light hair. Apply directly to dry or slightly damp, freshly washed (but not conditioned hair) using a tint brush for best results, or use gloved fingers to spread the dye evenly through your hair. Allow to process for at least 15 minutes and do not allow to dry out. Rinse thoroughly. To avoid temporary staining to the skin, apply a layer of Vaseline around your hairline and ears before applying the colour.

Reviews of Directions Alpine Green

  • I tried this one and found that it faded quite quickly towards blue. I may be biased though, as I was hoping for a much brighter colour to begin with and made an error in choosing it initially.
  • I actually really liked this one, as it was a darker green and has a lot of blue tones which suited my complexion, haha. It stayed in quite well on my bleached/faded blue hair, and was still bright and eye- catching. I have a picture of it in my timeline.
  • I LOVE this colour! Such a nice change from super bright emerald green type dyes, plus it went on nice and vivid even without any bleaching over light brown hair. Definately recommend this colour to anyone wanting a lovely green shade, especially paired with blues as mine is.
  • Very like MP Enchanted forest. Not bad though, comes out a deep bluish green as opposed to a yellow green. Last long too.
  • One of the best colors! Came out very even and looked SO STUNNING. Beautiful. It washed out to a mermaidy turquoise, which was nice as well.
  • I've had this in for four weeks and it's only just starting to fade to a washed out teal colour which is still quite nice. I was very pleased with how even it dyed and it looks amazing in the sun. Until the first wash, it was quite a heavily pigmented colour, but as it faded became brighter. Walked a fine line between emerald green and turquoise on my hair. Love it!
  • Used this on bleached light blonde hair (not platinum), came out a very dark blue-ish green. Quite an unusual colour, never really had anything like it before, can't say I LOVED it though... faded to a turquoise colour within a week, kind of liked the colour better when it faded! I give it a 3 star, not bad.
  • Very nice colour with staying power even on extra sunny days! It gets better and more vibrant over time
  • I love this colour and would definitely recommend. It's a beautiful turquoise-green with a lot of blue tones. It does fade to a blue colour fairly quickly (1-2 weeks), but it doesn't go murky or dull so I didn't mind.
  • This is so lovely. It has not even faded yet, and it's been a week. (Colors in my hair usually fades quickly.)
  • I adore this colour. It's nice and bright (even though it's in the darker range) and it's so beautiful. The only reason I don't use it more often is because I have a thing for UV reactive when I can get it, so I often plump for Stargazer's UV turquoise instead, which fades faster but is a similar colour AND UV reactive. That aside, I would definitely recommend Alpine! :-)
  • While I love this colour in all the photo's I was mildly dissapointed when I added two strands of this in my turquoise hair; I left it in for hours but I could barely see the difference between the turquoise and the alpine green; I expected it to be darker and greener. Maybe it had to do with only having done a single layer of alpine green and many layers of turquoise, and maybe I should give it a second try some time (with a few streaks); and then apply a few layers, I'm not willing to give this colour up yet, but it has not worked for me yet unfortunately.
  • I put Alpine green on my hair in April 2017. I topped the colour up in July 2017. In October 2017 I put Midnight Blue over it. In March 2018, I put brown over it. In April 2018, I used Colourless to remove the brown and my hair is still Alpine Green.
  • I used this over Spring Green because I wanted something less yellow/green and it comes out a very deep rich green. If anything, I thought it was a little too dark for my taste because I didn’t dilute it. I am used to colours fading even before the first wash but after washing it four times with hot water and clarifying shampoo to try to fade it, it had only shifted to a slightly brighter green but still very vibrant and pigmented.
