Adore Royal Navy

A very dark, inky blue from Adore’s latest hair dye collection. Royal Navy is similar to “Blue Velvet” by Special Effects in that it’s deep in colour but it isn’t as highly pigmented (so less colour transfer). The result on pale blonde hair is a beautiful deep indigo denim colour with no violet undertones.

A very pigmented colour, Royal Navy will leave bleached hair looking rich and shiny. It’s also idea for adding a blue-black sheen to faded permanent black or dark brown (though results may not last as long as on bleached hair).

Expect a lot of colour to run off when you wash your hair with this dye. It may also rub off onto surfaces to take precautions to avoid staining on clothing, bedding, towels and other porous surfaces.

Shampoo and towel dry your hair. Use a protective cream around the hairline (such as Vaseline) to prevent staining. Apply colour 1/8” from the scalp and comb thoroughly. Cover with a plastic cap and process with heat for up to 15 minutes. Rinse and shampoo.

Reviews of Adore Royal Navy

  • Lovely deep colour with great staying power! Does look purple-ish when it come out of the bottle, but that didnt show on my hair- it was a lovely deep colour :) Alos, adore is nice in smell and consistency. Love to mix colours around to make my own unique mix! Make sure you dont have yellow or orange in your hair though- (logically) it will tinge a bit green-ish ;)
  • It seemed purplish at first when applied, however after it was washed it is a gorgeous blue color. Looks fantastic in the light as well. I love how Adore's dye smells, and it doesn't bleed at ALL. As agreed with Queeny, your hair should definitely be lighter and not so orange-y or yellow.
  • A really nice deep navy blue that's actually blue, not blurple. I liked it very much. It was easy to apply and didn't get everywhere on my skin and sink. There was some staining initially, but nothing compared to Special Effects Blue Velvet or Directions Atlantic Blue, and it stabilized after one or two shampoos and washed out of my pillowcase and towel easily. GREAT fade! I had it in for 9 weeks and other than a few strands near my front roots (which always fades more quickly), it was still a nice medium blue. Didn't fade purple, didn't fade green. I have nothing but praise for this dye. Note: I put this over very light blonde hair. My hair is naturally blonde and bleaches easily.
