Reviews of Adore Paprika

  • This is an incredible colour! It's the closest thing to henna I've had in my hair for a long time. It seems to be a slightly different formula to the other Adore colours I've used, perhaps because it's a 'natural' shade. I had a touch of blue left in my hair and those areas have gone brassy brown. It is a very heavily pigmented dye, even when diluted. Stains sinks and is a bit messy but the consistency is good and has good coverage; even over my medium brown regrowth I can't tell the difference. Over straight blonde hair it'd be bright auburn red, but on mine it's a rich copper brown.
  • I mixed this with French Cognac and really loved it, but looking back at the photos, it was definitely more of an unnatural orange (a very nice unnatural orange though) than a natural ginger. Both are fine, I was just trying for the latter.
  • I truly love this color. It's a lot more versatile than you'd think. Straight from the bottle, it's a deep ginger-y orange, almost a bright rust color. But if you dilute it, you can get a surprisingly bright orange. It also lasts very well. Finally, I've always heard that Adore dyes don't work well on virgin hair. Well, I used it in my daughter's virgin blonde hair, and it's lasted weeks. It's faded, of course, but it's still very much in evidence, AND she's in a pool one to three times a week! So if you want a sort-of-unnatural-sort-of-natural deep ginger orange shade for virgin hair, definitely consider this one. :)
