Fixing bad layersby hairtalk123Posted 1 week, 4 days ago
Hi guys! Newbie here looking for some hair advice ? I had my hair cut about a month ago, asking for some layers to add volume and movement to my all one length thick hair. As you can see from the pics it’s very choppy & uneven ? Can you offer some advice as to what I should ask for next time I get my hair cut? I don’t want to lose too much length, but definitely want to fix the layers so they aren’t as ‘blocky’. Any help would be amazing - thank you ❤️❤️

I think you'll have to lose some length on the bottom layers to smooth things out, but it won't be impossible. To be honest, I have found the terminology for layering techniques to be a bit inconsistent depending on where the stylist was trained, so I'd just bring a picture of what you're hoping for.

Are you wanting your hairs in front to be shorter than in back? That's called curved layers of the u-shaped cut. It also looks like beveled layers were attempted too. Hope this helps.
