I am a newbie here. Something is wrong with my hair in the past couple of months. I have just above shoulder, all one length, stick straight, fine hair. I curl my hair with a straightener 3-4 times a week. I have always had issues with volume, but never with my curls falling out within 15-20 minutes. I use higher end products. My stylist says I don’t have build up. I have good water. I’m not on any kind of medication except Vitamins. I have tried LOTS of different combinations of styling products and it happens no matter what I use. I only use 1 or 2 plus hairspray. I even tried with only hairspray and it still did it. It doesn’t matter whether it’s clean or dirty. My curls look beautiful and in no time, they all fall down. I’ve even tried plastering it with stiff hairspray and it still falls down. What is going on?! It has been pretty humid in my area, but that’s not something I’ve ever had issues with before. Could it be hormones? I’m 49 and am having some hot flash issues. I’ve always had nice, healthy hair that curls well and usually lasts most of the day as long as I use good products. Any ideas?

I have this issue as well actually. Unfortunately I don't have a solution and I've been trying to find one myself. I am going to follow this thread in hopes someone comments with some tips. Sorry I couldn't be much of help but I hope someone else on here can give you some advice :)

HI, using hot tools often may affect the hair structure on the long run; what temperature are you using? I sometimes curl my hair but don't have this problem for the moment. curls seem to hold a bit better if I use Kerastase Creme de Boucle with comparison with products which are only heat protectants. Do you make sure your hair is completely dry from the heat protectant before you use the hoot tool?

Hi, I used to have the same issue until i bleached my hair. Now almost all types of styles hold for a few hours which is a huge change. I know this isnt super helpful But hey at least your hair is waaay healthier than mine.
