Want an advice for Damaged Hairby ZahabiyaPosted 4 months, 1 week ago
Can anyone suggest me some tips for totally damaged hair? It will be really helpful for me as I am getting married next year and I have completely damaged hair (hair fall, frizziness, dry, rough and splits). Thank you!

Hello ! I have damaged hair too and these are a few tips that help me:
-Get a haircut OR if you don't want to lose any lenght you can do the search & destroy method. Take your time, sit in good lightning and cut of all the split ends and breakage only. Do this whenever you feel like you need it. (When your hair might knot faster etc.)
-Wash with cold water only and put some coconut or olive oil in your hair an hour before washing.
-Don't rub your hair with a towel, pat it dry only or put it up in a towel for a few minutes.
-After washing ALWAYS do a hair mask or a nourishing conditioner and keep it in for at least an hour. ( Redken Extreme strength builder plus is amazing) After washing out the mask/conditioner do a vinegar rinse to close the cuticle and give shine.
-Get yourself a good leave-in product and reapply during the day whenever your hair feels dry or is knotted. I always carry one in my bag! If it's very knotted then brush through carefully as often as needed. Also get yourself a good brush. I use the tangle teezer, a big one when I'm at home and a small one always in my bag.
-Stay away from heat as much as you can and blow dry cold only. Don't let your hair airdry because damaged hair is even more fragile when wet. Also don't brush when it's wet.
-Don't dye or bleach your hair, you can bleach or dye your roots though if needed. But be careful not to get the dye on the rest of the hair.
-Put your hair up in a bun, ponytail etc. as much as you can. If you like to wear your hair open during the day then put it up as soon as your home. Especially before sleeping. Don't sleep with your hair open!
Hope this helps. :)

Thank you so much for your tips. I apply Coconut and castor oil just 20-30 mins before washing. I will definitely try using your tips.
