I am looking for a Flat Iron for myself and my daughter. My daughter has long somewhat thick, frizzy hair that gets oily and I have shorter, very thick, dry, coarse, very frizzy hair. I have looked at a lot of flat irons online and have no idea which one to get. They all have mixed reviews. I think I've found a good one and then I see really bad reviews on it. I've been looking at ones with tourmaline ceramic plates with and without steam...not sure about steam...supposedly, they make hair softer, sleeker and shiner, but I read somewhere that they don't make hair bone straight(don't know if that's true), which is what I want. I've also seen some with bristles/comb on plate. I also have been looking for one that is more than 1" wide for our thick hair, but not 2", because I've heard you can't get close to the roots(scalp).
I don't know if I should just get a tourmaline ceramic one without steam?, one with steam?, bristles/comb? I definitely want ionic infrared tourmaline ceramic plates, but steam? bristles? I want one that makes our really thick frizzy hair very sleek, shiny and super straight, if possible. Also, if possible, that our hair stays straight all day or longer. I don't want to spend more than $60-$70 and hopefully less.
I am hoping I can get some advice on which type would be best and one or two flat irons to look at. Thanks!
