After years of dying my hair, I decided to get a blonde balayage, which turned out fine, but I'm left with weak brittle and damaged hair. I picked up Purology Fabulous Lengths repair treatment that is supposed to help strengthen weak hair. I asked my hairdresser when I went in for a cut how often I am supposed to be using this, and she said once a week. I only wash my hair about 1-2 times per week. I feel like once a week isn't enough but I'm not sure how often is too much. Would twice per week be better to repair my hair?
I usually do repair treatments once a week and deep condition every 2 days.
I have read to always follow directions, for instance protein treatments can actually leave your hair brittle if overused. I don't know Purology, so it depends what it does. I would highly recommend Innoluxe/Olaplex type treatments.
if the hair is brittle now, don't use the treatment at all if it has protein it will make it worse, use moisterizing conditioner until the hair has more flexability then use something with protein you want to balence the hair do a search in google for do you need protein or moisture to have a better idea of what your hair needs
