Treat yourself - we have hundreds of hair colours to choose from!
So, whenever I go into a shop that sells crazy colours in the US, I always find that their displays are terrible. Most of the time, its just a bunch of tubs on a shelf. I usually try to sort them by colour, which is a bit of an odd compulsion, I admit. Anyhow, I sometimes get asked about how to achieve a particular shade and I find myself repeating a lot of information and I sometimes forget some things. Since I'm looking for something of a side project that I can work on when I'm feeling unproductive, I wanted to put together what is essentially a database of dyes by shade. I'm working around the colour wheel, and I've only tackled the reds, oranges, and yellows, thus far. Of course, I'm limited to what I've experience with, so I'd love some help if possible. Any corrections, mixtures, or dilution ratios would be super helpful as well. Thanks Jude for your How to Dye Your Hair [Color] articles. Those probably will continue to be a great help as well.

EDIT: Added some greens
EDIT2: Added some blue headings and some 'example' dyes for what sort of colour I was going for with the naming.
EDIT3: Finished up the blues. Added Red Passion and African Green. Moved Atlantic Blue, but I don't think medium blue is a very descriptive title. :\ I'll add in the pinks suggested by @Parmajana after I do the purples. Thanks for the suggestions everyone!
EDIT4: Finally added some purples. Someday I'll get around to the pinks and maybe even toners :P
That is super helpful and very comprehensive!
Last time I used Vampire Red it faded out to orange but this was the old gel formula. What's everyone's experience with classic formula?
I'd be interested to see blues, purples, pinks and greens if you get around to it. I'd be happy to help in categorising them if you find it too much.
Oh and if you need a source for dyes and their manufacturers the photo upload form contains a list of most products though I don't have the limited edition manic panic colours in there.

I found their amplified formula dye pinkish myself. Re: vampire red.
Nice list!! It'll help me choose colors (even though I'm not bleaching, knowing the base tones will be helpful).
SO helpful! Thanks!!!!!!

Woah, quite an undertaking! This is so useful as well!

Thanks everyone! I am a bit nutty when it comes to organizational things, so I actually find this to be relaxing, if you can believe it!
@Jude: I'll be adding to it as time goes on, but there's certainly a lot of shades I haven't tried yet. Should I add a list of them so that people can share their opinions?
If you give us the headings you were going to categorise them under I'm sure everyone could say with dyes they think fall under each heading?

This is an awesome idea!
I'm planning to write an article about colour care for red hair. I've already started it, just need more time to finish it off :) Would anybody be interested in that article? I'm sorry I can't help much with your database, I'm very limited due to being redhead for so long. But once again, this is great and I'm sure many users will appreciate it!
Yeah, I'd add more headings so we can all contribute what we've used too. You could collate it all into an article too, so it would be available for everyone to see!
I've been coming up with the titles as I go, but I can definitely make them ahead of time. Feel free to suggest categories, as well, as it's very possible that I'll miss some. Before I started dying my hair, I never realized how many shades of red and purple there were.
@Parmajana I wasn't planning on doing an article, but that sounds like a great idea. I feel like it'll need a bit more information, maybe about colour theory or something.
