I've been bleaching my virgin black hair, mid head down with Schwarzkopf Blondme + 20 vol for a year or so now. It usually takes me 3 sessions, which I spread out usually in 6 months to get to a level 10. This time I want to go completely blonde but I'm wondering how long it would take for my roots and the top of my head to get to a level 9 to 10. My hair situation is at a pretty awkward stage at the moment as 10cm from the top of my head is virgin black and another about 20cm is level 6-7 orange gold (after 1 bleach session) and the rest of it is a level 10, about 20cm. Since its my first time bleaching the top of my head/root area , does anyone know how long/how many bleach sessions it would take for me to reach to a level 9 to 10 with a 20vol developer? And how long should I leave it on for? Especially with the Schwarzkopf Blondme.
As always thanks for the help :)
Personally, I'd even out there orange/gold sections to blonde first, just so I have few colours and shades I'd have to deal with. For those, just stick with whatever you've typically been doing with the two additional processes. Since you know that your hair can handle it, you don't need to spread it out as far, though I'd always advise letting your hair get greasy again by not washing for a few days between processes.
For the virgin portions, the hardest part will be dealing with the fact that the top 1-2 cm will lighten more than the rest of your hair. I can get pretty darn close to platinum from my black hair with 30 vol for 60 minutes, but the top of the roots really get fully platinum in maybe 45 minutes. I'd personally recommend just going with two rounds of 20 vol, because the slower processing seems like it makes everything a little easier to keep even and you'll have the second chance to touch up any dark spots, which always seems to happen with me regardless of how careful I am. Just do the very top of your roots last. I would also highly recommend not doing the two processes in one day, just because I have found BlondMe to be so drying on my scalp and it can really be extremely painful to do it before you've given it time to recover and build-up the natural oils again. Just don't wash for a few days and let it get greasy before the second process.
