My hair was long, all one length and looked healthy!
The salon I went to I asked for long layers and a couple of inches off.
She has butchered my hair I think :-(
Do you think there’s any way to save it without cutting loads off? I’ve got an appointment with another salon to try and rectify but I don’t want to go ahead if I have to lose a lot of length, I’ve had it trimmed already and love my hair long.
Please note hair looks a funny colour in the bathroom, it’s actually brown with orangey undertones at the moment when in light!
Second photo is my hair before, don’t have a pic of back :(
Cutting it all off is the only option I can think of. If you want it one length or less layers then it will have to be cut off where the layers begin.
Thanks for your response. In your opinion, do you think it’s worth getting it cut off? I have spent so long growing it, I can’t even put into words how bad it looks from this one cut and I’m so annoyed at the hairdresser.
I was hoping there might be an option to blend it in or something. I’m really stuck with what to do, the stylist who created this mess said apparently layers grow back quick and it will be back to normal soon, which I find hard to believe and to be honest I cry most mornings looking at it getting ready! I don’t see how she could be ‘qualified’ but then do a cut like this!
Also silly question, but do you think dying it a more uniform medium cool brown might help? I’m not sure if the natural coppery undertones in my hair are making it look worse at the ends :-(
Maybe the next stylist could add a few extensions in to make the layers seem less blunt.
Thanks so much for your reply, I went to a Toni&Guy salon today and the stylist was amazing in the consultation, he seems to think he can fix it without taking too much length off, so fingers crossed! ?? They are going to give it a gloss brown dye to try and counterbalance the yellow tones and give it more shine to make it look healthier, it’s worth a go I guess, although their prices are slightly eye-watering! :-)
Good luck! Share pictures when it's all fixed :)
You could taper it to a V style layering.
