@katox I was actually going to try on a black wig in one shop haha :D You see, there are a couple of reasons why I wanted to go black/purple:
- no more 'please tie your hair back, you might scare the customers'
- easier to maintain than red hair
- purple underlayer would be my 'crazy part' which I could change to different colours when it fades
- no more 'bathroom looks like butcher's shop'
These are only a few of my reasons, it's not like I'm 100% sure I want this, that's why I'm asking you guys what you think :)
Do not know why pulling the red hair back would make any difference, that is strange to me. Also would suggest what Katox said and try a black wig first. You can also get a similar result using purple and black hair spray. Black is a big commitment and can be removed but very difficult. I think framing the face with purple is a good idea with the black. Try several options like a wig or hair spray to see if you think looks good. If you think looks good then try the combination. Good luck.
Purple in the underlayer with black looks good, I had it before I had purple on the whole head.
I also think it would look good on you :) if you want, I could take a photo of you and try to colour your hair black and purple for you, so you could see how it looks.
Nice thing is: its nice to maintain and its a nice effect :)
@shizia I've never used a semi black dye like Directions or Crazy Color, so I have no experience with those. If you do go for a permanent black, I would still recommend going with a semi-perm box dye. It will have good staying power so it won't bleed into the purple, but it should fade over time. I really don't think you need the coverage or staying power of a permanent black dye.

I would love that!

@DitaV That's actually a great idea, thanks for that. I have to say I am a little bit scared of permanent box dyes, so semi-box dye would be the best option.
And just for a reference, here's a picture of me few years ago when my hair was almost black (it was actually a very very dark brown):

I think you look lovely with dark hair!
Do look gorgeous with that dark brown, why didn't you like it?

@katox I was just boooooored with it. I remember I started dying my hair with dark browns and it continued for few years until I decided to go crazy red.I might consider choosing dark brown instead of black. What do you think?
I'm presenting to you a work of @LadyLeighis :) Thank you darling :)
I'm liking it more and more!
