Help with Wedding Hair Color ASAP

Hello, I'm trying to get my hair a certain color to suprise my fiance on our wedding day! I have been doing lots of strand test from pieces but for some reason the colors just aren't turning out right. My hair is a pale/yellow (patchy though, especially on underside of hair).

I was particularly surprised that atomic turquoise + electric lizard looked so dark on a strand test considering they're both supposed to be neon bright shades. Every strand test looks about the same as far as me mixing different greens and blues to make teals.

Many yrs ago, I used to dye my hair all kinds of bright colors, I don't understand why now my light hair will make even supposed light colors dark. How is this possible? I can make it light tho by mixing in a whole lot of conditioner, however the color intensity greatly suffers, and I really don't want a dull color for my wedding, but an intense bright one! Any help, dye product suggestions, or advise is very much appreciated!

TL;DR : My light hair seems to make even light colored dyes a dark result. Why is this happening? Is it Me or the dye? Color suggestions?

My best guess is the hair is very porous and sucking up color. My hair does this a lot. Maybe the hair cuticle is too open and needs to close to be healthier. To close the hair cuticle (plates on the hair shaft) suggest washing the hair with cold or very cold water. Very cold water helps to close the (hair cuticle) plates on the hair shaft. This might help and might not. Hair also changes as we age. For myself it is like a 100 rabbits hopping backwards, which is a receding hair line. Also the hair can get thinner over time and loose pigmentation.

These are my opinions and suggestions.
