Green wont go...by Radian02Posted 1 week, 3 days ago
I dyed my hair half jade and half purple and hated it so I left it for a few weeks to fade and to give my hair a break. After a bit I bleached it to get all the color out and replace it with a honey golden brown (? ive always loved the color!) But somthing weird happend? the purple instantly got out but the jade well uh nope.. Wtf! So I read that red undertone hair dye can mute it and the dye that i wanted had red undertones so I was like ok I'm all set!... Again.. NOPE now I have like a weird green and a amazing golden brown hair so now idk what to do I want to stay golden but this green needs to go... Help?

Unfortunately, it sounds like you have some staining. While red can make green tones more muted, if you're covering a split dye, the difference in your base will still show through. I'm not sure if you used Ion Jade, but that particular shade is quite permanent, as are many of Ion's blues and greens, and more bleach may not even get it out. You may need to choose a darker colour and possible use a different shade on the previously purple half of your hair in order to match the tones more closely. Strand tests are highly recommended as you move forward.
