Bleaching / toning advice needed pleasePosted 1 week, 3 days ago
Hi everyone, Around 4 months ago I bleached my level 4/5 hair at home, put a blonde dye on it and then got highlights at level 9/10. It was still patchy and because my hair is long is was taking forever to even itself out the highlight route. The weekend just gone I bleached my hair with 30 vol developer and applied T28 to orange hair, which I now relaize wasn't the right toner. It left me with uneven neon, orange hair. Last night I did a bleach bath and now I have hair that is white in places and STILL orange even after using T14. Should I just box dye it a blonde colour? I don't want to keep bleaching my hair, it's in fairly good condition but I don't want to risk it falling out. Or should I try the Blonde me toners? I've heard they are good at toning hair when Wella doesn't seem to tone that well. I've uploaded a pic of my hair currently and what I'm trying to achieve but I will take and heed advice! HELP Xx

While toners can mute the warmth in blonde, they won't do much if your base is uneven. In fact, they can make the unevenness more obvious by tinting the lightest areas white or lavender while the darker areas go green, brown, or orange. The only thing to do if you want to get rid of orange is to spot-bleach just those areas. I'd highly recommend strand testing to determine if you can get enough lift with an acceptable level of damage.

Thanks for coming back to me. Will a light ash blonde hair dye help me at all or will it still be uneven?
