Faded indigo (black henna) wanting to neutralizeby KyodelPosted 1 week ago
For 4ish years I've been dying my hair black with indigo powder. It's been a year since I last did so, and I've faded/bleached out majority of what I think I can. But this blue is not my thing, I want to neutralize it for a few months til my hair is a little longer before cutting it out. This is me currently. I'd like to get the blue/green parts to a more neutral color to match with my blonde. Id prefer if I could get it to a silvery grey color as I'm toning my blonde ashy. Can I get there? Just bleaching won't lift more blue out so it's all color theory now, maybe lol. Not opposed to just doing a blonde-black ombre too. I just want a neutral tone that'll not fade out in a week. HELP?

I'm not sure you'll get to a silvery grey without a significantly lighter base and my general experience with indigo is that bleach doesn't really do much against it. Since it's a bit darker, I think a neutralizing colour would just pull it toward a brown or green. I if you went significantly darker on your ends, you could probably do purple/blue/green or maybe burgundy, but it if you'd prefer not to mess with it, I think it's best to leave it be.
