Faded Red to Light Ash brownby RylabbyPosted 4 days, 23 hours ago
Hey guys I’ve enjoyed red hair for a few months but now it’s faded and looking patchy disaster! I’d really love to go back to my natural level 6/7 ash brown hair. Is it possible for me to achieve this? Would colour remover/ ash brown dye work? If I can’t achieve this what colour should I do next. Keep in mind my hair is damaged and I don’t want to bleach Any advice would be greatly appreciated <3

I'm not sure you can get back to exactly what you started with, but you could fade things down and maybe get to a point where you could to a level 4-5 brown. If you just did that straight over your current base, the red would probably still show through, but a bit of fading should help with that.
Is your colour from a permanent or semi-permanent dye?

The before picture is just to show what is under my red hair dye. This is not the desired colour, I’m looking to acheive a level 6 ash brown. The red hair dye is permanent

A colour remover like Color Oops or Colour B4 may help. It looks like you started at pretty much a level 7, and I'm guessing you're most likely going to have some residual red left over after you get as much as possible out, so that why I think a level 4/5 brown is probably a good place to set your expectations and, if you can go lighter, it'll be a good surprise.
- Wanted ash brown, but got a very red (dark) brown. I'm going to do Color Oops tomorrow, but what next? "Tone" whatever color is revealed with a green dye? Use a permanent brown dye again?
- Dying faded red hair back to brown
- Pink to Ash Blonde/Light Ash Brown
- Strange color after trying to put ashe brown over yellow bleached hair
- Green to Ash Brown
