ion permanent pink?? best way to get an even result?by faewiPosted 1 week, 6 days ago
I have an interesting situation. I had a split dye, one half was very faded semi permanent pink so basically level 9/10, and the other was about 6 inches of my natural roots and brown permanent dye over that and my mids used to be level 9/10 as well. I was able to get out all of the brown and I'm left with a little orange and uneven-ness but I think I'll be able to make it match the other side with a round of bleach. I'm planning on using ion's permanent color in flamingo with some salmon mixed in (going for a more peachy color), I really wanna test the permanence of this stuff since I've never seen a permanent pink before. my hair is all over the place on porous-ness right now and I'd like to get as even of a dye as possible, if anyone has tips or could direct me to helpful thread I'd appreciate it a ton! thanks!

To maybe help with porosity suggest washing the hair with cold water to help close the plates on the hair shaft. How to make something more the same overall is very difficult. When the plates on the hair shaft are closed, semi-permanent dyes adhere or able to stain the hair more easily.
Also, the brand ION was mentioned. Even the semi-permanent should be relabeled permanent dye in my humble opinion based on experience. From my non-professional decades experience, ION would fall under the category of permanent. Also my experience states this dye stains the hair very quickly.
Strongly suggest a strand test on a very small section of the hair.
I have used semi-permanent ION and never parament ION about 5 years ago.. With semi-permanent ION needed to mix with white conditioner, because the ION dye is very vert dense. More dense then Brie cheese. Also needed to mix the ION semi-permanent dye and conditioner together for at least 5 minutes. Also had to lift the mixture and look through the mixture a lot to make sue the color seemed even.
Suggest reading some of the articles in the Articles section for tips.
Good luck. These are my humble opinions and suggestions based on decades of non-professional experience.
