Impulse dyed my hair and made a messby Peachy1111Posted 1 week, 2 days ago
Looking for advice/suggestions to fix the absolute mess that is my hair right now. I tried to lighten it up a bit and hide some grays using Ion Color Brilliance in 10A Lightest Ash Blonde and a 20 v developer. I’m 29 and this was my first attempt at dyeing my own hair and as evidenced from the pictures I failed miserably.
My hair is two different colors because I was trying to grow out the full head of blonde highlights I had as I have so much damage and dryness from them. Then I noticed gray hair coming in, I panicked a grabbed some dye and went for it
My hair is naturally a dark blonde/light brown color which turned this ugly orangey brassy color with the dye and the hair that was highlighted lightened up to a color I don’t love but can deal with. To make the situation worse I can still see grays.
I used a purple conditioner because that was all I had on hand and I was desperate, that obviously did nothing. Is there anything I can do by myself to fix this at home? Would a toner help or do I need to get professional help? The last picture is what I was naively hoping the result of my at home dye job would be
Also, please excuse how awful my hair looks in these pictures color aside I just rolled out of bed and clearly didn’t bother to brush my hair - working from home is making me lazy.
