Brunette going greyby IR70Posted 1 week, 4 days ago
Hi everyone, my natural colour is dark brown but I've quite a few grey hairs coming in. At the moment I'm picking a hair dye as close to my natural colour to mask them. Being darker, I always think greys show up more. Can I ask for advice for the best way forward re hair colour? Do most people start going lighter after a certain point?

So there's two sides of the coin when it comes to covering grey. On the one hand, greys do stand out a bit more on darker hair, so sometimes the suggestion is to get highlights to blend them in. On the other hand, it's a lot easier to chuck a darker dye over everything yourself compared to doing your own highlights. I think either would work for you. It's a matter of preference and how often you think you could get to the salon. Personally, I think a good first step is to let your greys grow on significantly and see how much they bother you in the first place. My mom stopped covering her greys and she actually enjoys them now.
