From Magenta Red to Emerald Greenby JaejewlzPosted 1 month, 2 weeks ago
Hello! I’m looking to go from Megenta red from L’Oréal Brights to emerald green. But don’t want my hair to turn out brown. I did see a mix from Artic Fox that might work but want to make sure I’m doing this correctly. Should I let the red fade out as much as possible? Or should I use a color corrector that strips my hair back to the blonde under the red then try it? I don’t want to fry my hair either.

First step would be to try and fade down whatever you have as much as possible. Even if you need more lift later, it's always easier to start on a more faded base. If you can get to a base with a pinkish or yellow tint, you can probably do a green straight over it, but if you have very strong red or orange tones, you might need some lift. Green can survive a little bit of orange, too, but that's more borderline.

Ok that’s good to know! I’ll try that. Thank you so much

Yeah, what she said. A very light pink to mostly yellow would suggest is a good base to go green from a previous medium red as also concur with my esteemed colleague.
Red and green are opposite each other on the color wheel. So similar to going white from black. Patience is suggested.
This is my opinion and suggestions.
