Patchy Bleached Hair Rescue! HELPby CrispyCactusPosted 1 week, 1 day ago
Hi, Newbie here, please help!
So I wanted to lighten my black Asian roots to match the rest of my hair ( which was lightened with blonde dye before), which went way lighter than the rest because I didn't realise I was using bleach instead of blonde dye until I was putting the bleach powder into the bottle (Schwartzkopf lightener, I know box bleach is problematic). It also went patchy as the sections were not small enough and there were bleeding into the previously treated hair from my black roots. So I bleached the bottom hair again and also attempted at spot bleaching. Which turned my hair ginger with patchiness still around, and I expected that.
Being naive and faithful, I decided to bleach my hair again three weeks later (with the same box bleach, I don't know why I thought that was okay), also attempted spot bleach the darker parts, as best as I can, with help from my friend. It did lighten my hair and slightly blended the colour, however still very spotty with lighter parts being about medium blonde and darker brassy patches on the same shaft, about 2, maybe 3 level difference. Also super light white blonde strands around my ear and fringe.
My hair now feels very dry and coarse with a lot of knots and flyaways, which is why I will be waiting two weeks at least to reassess. My final goal is to get a grey based purple/lilac colour which I know will need a clean even base. So now I don't know whether to spot bleach and bleach my hair with proper bleach and 20 vol, do a bleach bath or will toner work?
If anyone can recommend methods least damaging to my hair and how to do it, you will be saving my confidence and I will forever be grateful.
I have just put coconut oil in my hair as treatment so will upload photo when I can.
