Getting closer to blonde!by ReachypeachyPosted 1 week, 5 days ago
Hi!! So I've gone from black to this in a couple months. I've done 5 color strips and 3 bleach baths ?. Overall though my hair is feeling okay, jusy a little dry. Preferably I'd put an ashy cool light blonde over this but I'm not sure if it will cover the orangey tint. Should I tone it first? If bleaching is the only way to get rid of the warmth then I'll probably settle for a golden blonde. What would be the lightest I could put over it? Also I know it has a lot of patchiness but here's hoping it will just look like highlights when I correct the color lol. Thanks in advance!

You did a great job lifting your colour considering you started from black. I'd try a strand test with a neutral level 7 or 8 dye and see how it goes. I think ash would probably be a bit much, as it'll highlight the differences between the more orange and less orange sections and you'll get a mix of green and cooler blonde.

Hi, as I once was in the orange stage, the only way to remove the orange without going darker is to lift the hair more. you can do it with Highlift dye and 20 volume, or Bleach and 10 volume. I agree with Vivienne's recommendation. If you want to neutralisé the orange with an ash tone, you could but you would need to silage the lighter strands so that they remain untouched, such as isolating with foils with conditioner nd apply the ashy level 8 dye to the rest. I also think the hair is too orange to go for a golden blonde, you would more likely become a very light strawberry blonde, if you like it. It also depends on what is more becoming to your complexion.
