Regretfully added blue dye to orange hair, how can I fix it?by moritaPosted 1 week, 4 days ago
Hello, I've bleached half of my hair for at home and it was a disaster. I thought the black hair dye I used in November last year had completely faded, but unfortunately it was very much still there which caused the bottom half of my hair to look very orange even after a second bleach. I tried be optimistic and applied the blue dye anyway because I was too afraid to bleach it again and it was a very stupid decision. The dye I used is a kind of denim color and I really liked how it turned out on the less orange-y parts, but the ends ended up a very unfortunate ashy green. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? I'm also planning to dye the other side but I'm torn between doing it the same way for it to at least turn out ugly in a balanced way or doing it properly and just bleaching a third time

Would definitely recommend bleaching again with a low volume developer, or trying a bleach bath, but try and fade this color as much as you can first. If you are not into bleaching maybe try a darker blue? It won't be super vibrant but something like Special Effects Electric Blue or Blue Velvet undiluted might make this a nice dark blue.
