How do I fix my already colored hair?by stargirlxcPosted 2 weeks, 2 days ago
My hair is bleached, and the roots are growing out. I want to go for an all-dye ash brown/blonde color by box dye (I can’t afford salon due to being unemployed because of COVID-19). How can I go about this?
I read up that lightening already colored hair is a really invasive process and should be only done at the salon. But I really can’t afford it. If iI really can’t lighten my hair, can I at least change my hair color to the same all around, to- let’s say.. a lighter brown?
Need help! I never dyed my hair at home before so I don’t know the process. But I hate having my hair like this!!

HI, you need to premigment hair with some gold and copper tones; as the hair is already pink, you essentially need to add gold tones, like a level 8 very gold copper, before applying your target shade. The pre-pigmenting dye does not need to be permeant color, a demi permanent is fine. I hope this helps!

Hi! Thank you for your response, do I put the pre-pigment dye on my ENTIRE head? Even to the grown out hair that's black? I'm confused on how to dye my hair if it has 2 different colors. I'm afraid if I put dye over my entire head, it'll still come out as 2 different colors!

hi, a gold copper color won't have any effect on your dark color if it's not a permanent color, but you only need to use it on the lighter parts. You can only put a dark color on the lighter pieces once you have pre-pigmented them. I don't know if you can match the dark color, you would need to chose a very dark dye.
