Can I go grey with my stained hair?by serenaiPosted 1 month, 1 week ago
It's my first post on this forum after using it for researches for many years. I've dyed my hair pink, 3 times, then I've moved on to purple. After the purple faded, my hair became weird: some parts were yellow, some parts were grey and some were purple.
I've used the method that you mix bleach powder and shampoo and I become blonde. Bu the hair around my ears was still pink, I've used the method specifically around there but it still has that orangeness.
So now I have blonde (I guess) hair with orangeness in the middle. And I want to dye my hair dark grey. It is not a big problem for me if the orange stays there a little bit if my whole head can be grey. But I think I do need a blue-ish grey so I am asking for your opinion: Can I go grey with this hair? How should I mix the grey dye (i.e. with blue) to achieve the best grey that I can?
edit: I should mention that the orangeness is more obvious than it is in the back around my ears. It bothers me when I look in the mirror. And I guess the reason is my hair was patchy and I dyed my less bleached hair with pink. That can be the reason that it's that stubborn.

It doesn't look too bad to me, but if the bits in the front are darker and more orange, I'd probably try to bleach them a little more. The orange may just be your natural base, so ideally you could get it to a blonde or at least a bit lighter. Orange staining from dark permanent dyes usually get stuck and don't come out easily with bleach, but if it's just your hair's natural pigment, it can usually be lifted a little more. Personally, I think a good solution would be to do a darker grey blending into a lighter one so that it helps cover the unevenness a bit and will let you grow out your roots without too much fuss on touch-ups.

Do you have any mixing suggestions with blue, purple, light grey etc. to get a darker grey? Because there are not many brands for grey dye in my country and I want to try creating the color on my own.
Thank you so much for the answer
