Typical pandemic hair mistakesby ClaireburkePosted 3 days, 13 hours ago
I live in an isolated community with no access to regular stores, so I tend to have a random collection of hair colouring products at home. I have naturally level 6 hair, roots about 3 inches after not seeing my hair dresser for months, blonde ends (short hair), I thought I had 30vol developer but I only had 20, so of course I used it even though I knew it wouldn’t lighten as much as I wanted. As I expected, after the bleach I had pretty dark orange roots, maybe had lifted 1-2 levels. I used wella medium intense ash 7AA/632 afterwards with no real change, just a bit less drastic root to end demarcation. All the wells toners I have I thought would be too light, T18 and frosty ash blonde 12A. I could try the medium intense ash again, maybe mixing in the cooling violet additive. And lots of various blues purples and lavenders in colour to choose from, could do a dye/conditioner toner, but still not sure if my hair is light enough for that. In a perfect world I would head to the store and get the right thing but....here we are. Any advice with the products I have?
Thanks all you mad geniuses! Xo

It's hard to say without a photo, but generally a dark orange can really only be toned to an ashy brown at best. I think you need more lift if you're hoping to match your ends more.
