Blondme question orange yellow hairby Aniak22Posted 7 months, 1 week ago
Hey guys !
So I have some blondme 20 developer and demi permanent developer I think its 7 or 6.9% and ice and sand toner . I forgot to pick up the 7 % developer that is specifically made for the blondme toner.
Can I use 20 developer on already bleached hair. The hair is like a orangey yellow color it's not very dark. Is it risky to try it ? Or should I just use the demi devloper I got.
I also have rusk beige blue toner ... would that cover the orange enough and can I use it with the toners i have listed above. Do you have to use the same brand toner ? I dont have bleach right now I'm just trying to tone down the color in the mean time.
Thanks for the help :)

I'm not expert but I had the same issue as you and I used the Schwartzkopf Blondme with the matching (20 vol) developer/peroxide as well. My hair went ORANGE, I should upload a photo. I talked to a professional and they said get a Violet toner because it cancels out orange and yellow tones.
As far as toning, I think its safe to use 20 vol. but I probably wouldnt? especially if youre going to work the toner all the way into the roots because toners are known for causing a burning sensation. I used a 10 vol. last night and still had that issue using sensative 10 vol developer.

So, 20 volume toner is actually weaker than the other ones you have, because it's actually 6% peroxide. 10 vol is 3%, 30 vol is 9%, etc. in general, I find that there isn't a substantial difference between developers and I usually use whatever is cheapest and don't bother matching brands.
Anyhow, I think 20 vol is fine over what you have now if you're hoping to lift it some more with bleach, but I'm not sure how much toning will help with the warmth. Like the photos above show, it can cool it down a bit, but it will still overall look very yellow.

Kk good info guys. I do have some creme lightener I might try first leave it on for a bit. I just wont want toner to make the hair too brown I'm hoping to achieve a natural blonde but lighter the better!

Hi 20 volume développer is 6% and 7 volume developper is 2%. I alwaus use the lowest developper with toner, low developper allows for the most deposit of the toner's pigment. With 20 volume you will get less deposit, a slight lift and potentially more damage as well So with light orange shades in your hair, you would be better of with Steel Blue. Ice toner is really for very light hair, like the inside of a banana peel. Looking at the picture, your hair looks lights enough and I won't lighten it more right now, but just try toning it properly.
