Dying my hair to a purpley redby F8140Posted 7 months, 1 week ago
Hello. I want my hair like a burgundy color- even on my whole head. I have naturally dark hair and over the summer had a dark brown- blonde balayage and then dyed that black. Then I dyed my whole head with LOreal Féria v48 which is like a deep purple kind of color. It left my roots and my ends a little brighter than the rest of my hair because the ends have bleach underneath the black and the roots were virgin. I want to even this out a little more and have it a little more bright. I was planning on using the LOreal hicolor magenta. I’ve used this before but on virgin hair. When I use this, should I put it on my whole head or should I just put it on the parts that didn’t brighten with the LOreal Féria dye?

HiColor is quite harsh, so I would only target the darker areas. Otherwise it will brighten the lighter areas even more and potentially cause breakage. Also, I'd generally stick a semi-permanent dyes that don't require developer for touch-ups. They don't do any damage, so you can keep the colour fresh of your wanted to top off more often. Permanent dyes will also fade, but repeated processing on the same area will weaken the hair.
