Bleaching with wella blondor or box bleach??by CarolinPosted 7 months, 3 weeks ago
Wella has a new line of semi permanent hair dye called 'color by you' and it comes with a bleach kit. Now the Ads show a drastic hair level lift. I need to know if that kind of lift Is possible or if its exaggerated?? (Pics below)
(Here's a link to the Ad: https://www.wella.com/international/wella-tutorials/how-to-dye-hair-pink )
Also I'm new to bleaching and have virgin hair , so if I were to use wella blondor will I really get 7 levels of lift as advertised ?? I have level 2 hair so will it lift like upto level 7/8 in one session??

I'd say the lift pictured is realistic, but it does requires a thorough application where every strand is fully saturated and sufficient processing time. That's harder than you'd expect, and one of the big issues with some of these kits is that they don't really give you enough bleach in the packet if your hair is even a bit longer or thicker than a short bob.
The creme formula of Blondor is pretty good, so I think you could get there assuming good application. The powder version is also nice, but it is a bit harsh on the scalp in my experience.
Now, the bigger question is whether that level is sufficient for whatever colour you're trying to achieve. I think any non-pastel pink, orange, red, or purple would probably be fine. Green and blue would depending on the dye and the shade.
