Trying dark greenby LilithPaigePosted 6 months, 3 weeks ago
I'm trying to go dark green, almost but not really there... I did adore clover mixed with royal navy. Any ideas on next step?

Well I washed my hair last night to see if it would even out a little more and it is actually even closer! Think it needs a touch more yellow, I am thinking that next couple of weeks I will do adore electric lime with the royal navy and perhaps that will get me more yellow/gold tones.

I agree with your idea to add a little more yellow. Adding more dark blue will make the hair more aqua (Blue-Green). Based on the icons for Adore Electric Lime and Adore Royal Navy, almost certain Adore Royal Navy would dominate over Adore Electric Lime even in small amounts and any mix would be greenish-blue or blue.
Suggest in a bowl place four ounces of white conditioner. Then add a fingernail amount of yellow semi-permanent dye. Mix together to create a pale to light yellow mixture. Test the mixture as a strand test on a very small section of hair. Check the tested strand every few minutes. Then add more dye or more conditioner as needed and test on another small section of hair.
These are my suggestions and opinion.

Dark green is tough because, as I'm sure you've noticed, most dark green dyes are quite teal. My most consistent success has usually come from letting the colour you have now fade down a bit and then topping it off with just a medium green like Manic Panic Green Envy. You could probably make a similar shade by mixing Electric Lime and Emerald.

I just dyed my hair dark green with lunar tides Juniper green and it's such a true green. You can check out the first picturs on my timeline
