From dark chocolate to warm blondePosted 4 days, 2 hours ago
I wasn't sure which forum this should go in (?) Sorry if this is wrong T.T
Recently went from very dark brown (my natural hair color), to a warm "blonde". I'm a cool skin tone so I'm not sure how nice it looks but ..im actually really happy with the color! I'm not going to say how many times I bleached it within 2 weeks (listen I'm impatient okay?!) But overall, my hair still has softness and shine! I've been using an oil on the ends and when I wash it every 3 ish days I use a conditioning mask in the shower. Any suggestions on if I should go cooler with the color? I really don't like the silver blondes which is why I have thus far kept it warm but I also want it to look good on me! I'm thinking of dying my roots back to a medium brown, when I bleached then they got way too light and I'm not sure I like it. Anyways, what level would you say my hair is now vs before the bleach? I've always wondered!

It's a little hard to tell with the lighting, but I'd say you seem like you're at a level 8 or 9 on the lightest parts and closer to a 6-7 on the darker orange bits. Honestly, I don't know if I'd advise going ashier at this point. An ashy toner, assuming it doesn't go green, probably won't work well on the orange bits, and it'll highlight the unevenness between the blonde and orange bits. If you're not keen on the colour, maybe consider a rose gold shade. It might blend the orange and yellow together a bit better.
PS: I moved the topic to the Dyeing forum instead.

I won't be toning it unless/until I bleach it again. I'm waiting 2-3 weeks before I do it again though. There's one chunk on the side of the head that's way more damaged than the rest for some reason and I don't wanna risk it breaking off.
If I bleach it again to get all of it to a level 8/9 (I will avoid all of the lightest parts of course), I may mix t10 and t11 toners. So it's not too silvery or too warm. A neutral blonde if you will lol
I made the mistake of using t10 on my roots bc I thought it was a warmer color and they just turned grey ರ_ರ
I feel like I post way to much so I apologize for that! I'm just super obsessed with my hair right now, I haven't gotten to do it in years, so I'm excited!

If you like it like this, what´s the problem? I think this golden-peachy blonde looks really cute with your eyes. Most humans have neutral-to-cool or neutral-to-warm undertones (completely cool or warm undertones are rarer), so chances are that you can rock a bit of warmth anyway. I often find that a different blush color can help you harmonize colors that are slightly outside my "most flattering" palette.
I also think that cool blonde/gray/ashy/lavender hair colors are a tiiiiny bit overrated, these days. Especially for pink-skinned people. Not everyone with pinky, fair skin has cool undertones: if you put a ultra cool, pale, ash color on someone with lot of pink in her skin, often it looks like rosacea or irritated skin.

Exactly!! That's what I was just talking about with my mom. I told her if i went ashy then I feel like I'd look...sick almost lol I feel like warmer colors would be better so warm me up yaknow?
But to each their own! Ashy blonde looks fantastic on other people, it's just not for me lol
