bleaching bangsby siddalee_Posted 7 months, 3 weeks ago
i’m bleaching and then dyeing just my bangs. my bangs are pretty wispy so it would be a small section of hair and i don’t wanna damage them or waste a whole bunch of bleach; soooo should i use 20 or 30 volume developer ? idk if 20 volume would lift them high enough but i don’t want to damage them with 30 if i don’t need to. for reference my hair is like a medium dark brown but i have color on it right now to make it a darker brown but my bangs have already grown out to my natural color so they are a little lighter than the length of my hair.

The volume bleach to be used would depend on the end result trying to get. What is the hair color your trying to get? Without knowing the desired color then suggest use 20 volume bleach to minimize the chance for damage. If the result is not light enough then suggest wait three to four weeks before bleaching with 20 volume bleach again. This is my suggestion and humble opinion.

I'd agree, that it depends on your end goal. My hair is a bit darker than yours, but I usually need two rounds no matter what if I want to get to platinum. If I was just trying to get to a yellow, I think one round of 30 might do it, but if you want something really pale, I'd probably opt for two rounds of 20.
