Re bleach or colour remover?by Faithlove3Posted 7 months, 3 weeks ago
Hi all. A quick question for all you smart ppl out there. I normally dye my hair dark colours, deep brown or red, so half my hair hair was dyed, with the other haLf my natural colour from grow out. My dilemma... I accidentally dyed my hair blonde last month. Was supposed to be the brown box, grabbed the blonde. Didn't notice until I took the shower cap off and I have a blonde fringe and roots. So obviously only half my hair was blonde, the regrowth parts, with brown hair everywhere else. I put a bleach kit through it the next day with turned the blonde sections white (which is awesome!) And slightly lightened the brown to a more orange tone than anything. I have put toners through it to even it out but hasn't really helped. My question for you lovely people is, can I put another bleach kit through my hair or would I be better off putting a colour remover kit through to make my hair all blonde? And do I only do the dyed section or can I put it all over my hair? Will it change the already bleached parts or make it weird colours or something It was the First time bleaching my hair.

For permanent dyes, you generally want to start with colour removers to get out as much as possible then use bleach to get the last bit out. You can still use colour remover after bleach, but I'm not sure how much it will do. However, if you've got a lot of layers of dark dye on your ends, I think you're more likely not going to be able to get an even colour everywhere. You probably have a lot of staining and both bleach and colour remover will only be able to remover a bit of it, so you'll probably still be left with some orange.
