Bleach and attempt color up Help pleaseby Sarahjane92Posted 7 months, 3 weeks ago
Hi all! So the very front of my hair has always been bleached. I was pregnant and had a baby and its been a year since I've touched my hair. Against my better judgement, I tried doing my hair again and used a bleach ive never used and it was ammonia free. (Loreal Colorista All-Over). So anyways it turned out white at my roots, with a band of dark orange, and then white again at the ends where it was already lightened. So I already bought a box of dye ahead of time and it was a silver metallic thinking it would level out the warm tones. I have attached pictures. I guess my question is how do I get to blonde from here? Do I color correct then try to bleach the orange band (now yellow/green after the dye) and leave the lightest areas(roots and tip) alone? My hair still feels pretty undamaged. Or should I just skip the color correction and bleach all of it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! And advice on best affordable products to get the job done? At the end I would love to have a light brass free blonde framing my face, if thats not do-able id be open to color suggestions in that area! Thank you SO MUCH!

In my opinion color correction could make the situation worse. I have never found adding one medium shade of color (blue) to another medium shade of color (orange) result in white hair. Also if you color correct the hair then bleach the same area of hair then the work done to color correct will be destroyed. The only way to achieve light blonde hair from orange hair is use one of many methods to lighten the hair. Bleach is one way to lighten hair and is suggested. Suggest bleach the orange band of hair so becomes close to the inside of a banana peel in color. Then thoroughly rinse out the bleach. Then suggest wash the hair with a purple based/colored shampoo like So Silver, Simply, Silver, Brass Off, or Shimmer Lights.
From the information provided makes sense the results.
These are my suggestions and humble opinion.

I'd agree that you just need to lighten that middle section a bit more. The toner that made everything silver should fade out with time, but if you don't mind it being that way instead of a lighter blonde, I'd probably just add some to the middle bit after lightening to have it match the other bits.

yeah just lighten the orange band and don't put the bleach on the white parts
