Brassy Yellow RootsPosted 1 week, 2 days ago
I bleached my hair platinum blonde (i have Overtone on top of it) a little under a month ago and now I have my roots growing but i always seem to have this band of brassiness? i made sure to cover this band of brassiness when i put in the temporary color but to no avail. I always get this yellow band and toning it with purple shampoo never fixes it. How can I stop this from happening? Or how can I make sure the temporary dye stays on this part?

A solution in my opinion is to bleach the yellow band and the roots till come close to the color of the ends.
Purple shampoo will not work on the yellow band because the yellow band is too dark and has way too much yellow. Purple based/colored shampoo is effective at hiding or masking the tiny bits of yellow within white hair. Purple shampoo is used and can be considered a "toner" to keep white hair white. Note all hair yellows because we live within an atmosphere and this yellowing is most easily noticeable on the lightest hair or white hair.
Temporary means will wash off with one shampoo. Temporary in most cases are colored hair spray, colored hair chalk, and colored styling gel.
This is my opinion and suggestion.
