Parts of my hair are grey/silvery while other parts are golden after toningby 18ahrPosted 11 months, 2 weeks ago
Hi, i recently decided to go from a medium brown (virgin hair) to blonde hair. I ended up bleaching my hair twice with a week in between so my hair can sorta heal and take a break. When i applied bleach, i started in the back so those parts are lighter compared to the front. After the 2nd bleaching, i toned with wella t18 & 3 caps of wella 050. Most of my hair is a light silvery grey color but my top layer of hair and roots didnt turn into that. If u lift my top layer of hair, the rest will be that silvery color. Im not rlly sure what to do since i basically have 3 different hair colors. Would i have to tone the top layer again or try to wash out the toner from the other parts of my hair? Or would it be okay to use a blonde box dye or silver box dye to try to make evrything even. I like the silvery parts of my hair but im just not sure how to get everything to that color.

You won't really be able to even things up by throwing a colour or toner over everything. The only real way to even things up will be to spot bleach the darker areas. They had too much warmth to be toned, hence why they still look golden. I'd try to pre-section them out and then do a quick bleach, possibly with foils to help keep everything separate from the parts that are light enough. Then you need to tone them again. I'd consider using a non-permanent toner, as the Wella ones are quite harsh. I've had decent results just using purple shampoo over dry, clean hair for an hour or so.
