Purple hair turned green-bleach bathby Jean17Posted 2 years, 11 months ago
I did a bleach bath on my faded purple hair. I had gone many antidandruff shampoos, baking soda and vit C treatments to fade my 10 month purple dyed hair. I decided (stupidly) to do a bleach bath to get myself to blonde.... And now I have minty turquoise green hair. I tried the bleach and shampoo method from a blog on this site (just on a small piece) and it did nothing. Has anyone else been able to fix this? Maybe i did it wrong? (Mixed 1 part quick blue bleach with 2 parts mane and tail cheap shampoo) do I have to resort to green hair or some dark concoction? I really just wanted to go back to Sandy blonde, possibly get highlights. But i feel like no hairdresser will touch green stains like this 1st photo was before I lightened at all. I don't have any of it lightened with head and shoulders, baking soda or vit C 2nd photo right after I dried after bleach bath. My hair is not damaged, it is just very frizzy (naturally very curly, I just quickly dried with a flat brush instead of smoothing Hair is still very strong so I'm glad for that

A lot of purple dyes go green when bleached, and unfortunately, the staining is pretty stubborn and makes it hard to go back to blonde.
Bleach powder/oils/shampoo may actually be helpful in getting the green out, though it would only try it on a strand test like you did before, but try to keep it wrapped up so it doesn't dry out and apply a bit of heat.
