Postpartum hair loss/regrowth with dyed hairby SerahphinePosted 2 months, 1 week ago
Okay so I'll try to keep it short and simple. I had a child about a year and a half ago. Your hair stops shedding for the most part when you're pregnant, then you shed like crazy after you have the baby. I luckily did not notice thinning hair like some women do. Then, after that all that hair that finally fell out, starts growing back. So now I have this crazy halo of hair all around my neckline that is about 4 inches long! It seems to be growing in at a different color than I remember my natural hair being. I've been dying since 16 or 17 and am now 37 and going grey so not sure what my natural hair color is now. First pic is all my new growth (longer now, and I could even have 'bangs' if I pulled the front pieces down), other pics are for color difference reference. I want one color hair and get rid of the brassy dark brown/red that my ends have. It would be great if I could have it match the new growth. It looks like a pretty bronde (brown/blonde) with golden highlights. I have about 4-5 inches of normal regrowth then about 5-6 inches of a semi permanent over permanent. My roots do not seem to match the color of this postpartum new hair so I don't know what to do. II'm curious if anyone knows:
- Is this postpartum regrowth my current hair color or is it like, 'baby hair' which will eventually change color as it grows/ages?
- Aside from just growing my hair out, given that my hair pulls red and is super resistant to bleach, what is the best way to get the old dye out and lighten to match the baby hair?
