Can I put semipermanent dye on my hair straight after bleaching?by SophiepaulPosted 1 year ago
I’m bleaching my hair for the first time in a few weeks so I can dye it bright blue. This might be a silly question but if I get my hair bleached in the morning, would the colour take to my hair ok if I went home and dyed it straight after bleaching or is there any benefit in leaving the freshly bleached hair to settle for a day or two before dying?

After bleaching suggest not only rinse the bleach away but also wash the hair with a moisture rich shampoo and using very cold water. Bleaching causes the plates on the hair to open and release color molecules. I forget the science terms. Cold water will help to close the plates on the hair shaft and color can hold onto the hair more easily.
A person can dye the hair with a semi-permanent after bleaching the hair. However suggest wait a few days for natural oils to return to the scalp and hair. Waiting a few days also gives one time to see the hair to determine what to do next.
Using a medium blue dye would suggest a hair color before dying of gold blonde at darkest to platinum blonde at the lightest.
These are my suggestions.

It works best if you dye it straight after bleaching because the hair is clean and the cuticle is open

It should be fine, but just be sure to rinse thoroughly, as residual bleach might cause weird things to happen with your dye.
