Purple dyes that don’t stain your entire back, ears, hands every time you wash itby charteekyPosted 3 months ago
Hi guys, I’ve been using La Riche directions in “dark tulip” and I love the colour but I’m really sick of going to work with pink neck, back, ears and hands every day, it’s embarrassing. I want to stay away from any blue based purples like directions plum because in the past they’ve stained my hair green and it was a nightmare. If anyone could recommend any brands that don’t run so much, or any tips for not staining my skin (except cold water, I can’t stand it haha)

The only brand I used that did not stain everything after washing the hair once was Punky Color which is similar to Directions.
Maybe the hair when dyed too much dye was applied, or maybe the hair is too porous. Cold water will help to close the hair cuticle and keep color on the hair. Maybe add a few ice cubes to the warm water when washing hair....lol.
Directions Plum must be different than Punky Color Plum, because fading Punky Color Plum always turns toward pink. Suggest not use Punky Color Violet or Manic Panic Ultra Violet because these are blue based purples. Arctic Fox purples are mostly if not all pink based.
Suggest place an old towel do not mind if gets stained around the pillow case before sleeping. Avoid swimming because this will pull color from the hair. Some people perspire or glow more than others and this maybe causing excess bleeding. Suggest was the hair with a clarifying shampoo to remove perhaps any excess dye that maybe currently remaining in the hair. There are many reasons for semi-permanent dye to bleed from the hair.
Certain my colleagues will share other very helpful ideas. These are my suggestions and opinion.
